Mr. Paulison,

Enclosed is our research document covering the hurricane preparedness of coastal U.S. cities. Our Hurricane Preparedness Group first started work on this project in September and have completed it as thoroughly and responsibly as possible.

Our group studied typical research documents and document writing techniques. Each group member did in depth research of a different coastal city. This research was compiled and analyzed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each city. New Orleans was found to be the most unprepared city.

The document includes solutions to the problems New Orleans is experiencing. Hopefully you will be able to integrate our suggestions into the disaster programs your organization already has in action. If you have any continuing questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us as we are eager to assist in solving the urgent problem.

The Hurricane Preparedness Group is composed of Abigayle Bessman, Brendan Crawford, Scott Ledbetter, and Candace Pringle. Abigayle Bessman studied Miami, FL, and can be contacted at abessma@clemson.edu . Brendan Crawford studied Charleston, SC and can be contacted at bcrawfo@clemson.edu . Scott Ledbetter studied New Orleans, LA and Bermuda and can be contacted at sledbet@clemson.edu . Candace Pringle studied Myrtle Beach, SC and can be contacted at cpringl@clemson.edu .

Sincerely,
Hurricane Preparedness Group
